One of the recurrent themes in my artwork is “the wrong kind of love.” In this picture, it’s illustrated by the rose thorns which keep her down and, while the wounds are not visible on her skin, as they are within, they show up in the backdrop as a way to suggest that even in silence there are signs speaking about pain. The roses, with their sweet scent and customary connotation of love, become here a symbol of pain.

I grew up painting and drawing, but went to college to study Journalism and received my Bachelor’s degree in 2005. My degree in Journalism helped me to discover photography, which I studied intensively and passionately. Later, my love for photography lead me to another level of artistic expression: digital art. I am now a graphic designer with Ardis Creative and a gallery artist represented by James Schot Gallery of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Born and raised in Romania, I moved to Florida in October of 2006. In May of 2006 I was awarded 3 gold medals in The Trierenberg Super Circuit, one of the major international photography contests.
