Nyctophobia means the pathological fear of darkness. It was completely inspired by the poem included, written by Eric Levay, when we were just getting to know each other (now, my husband). The poem moved me so much, as it put into words what I was feeling and going through at the time, one of the most difficult episodes of my life. Of course, the darkness concept is metaphorical. It relates rather to an inner experience than to the pathological aspect. The model in the picture is myself, as usual when I’m illustrating a very personal, intimate concept.

I grew up painting and drawing, but went to college to study Journalism and received my Bachelor’s degree in 2005. My degree in Journalism helped me to discover photography, which I studied intensively and passionately. Later, my love for photography lead me to another level of artistic expression: digital art. I am now a graphic designer with Ardis Creative and a gallery artist represented by James Schot Gallery of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Born and raised in Romania, I moved to Florida in October of 2006. In May of 2006 I was awarded 3 gold medals in The Trierenberg Super Circuit, one of the major international photography contests.
