A mixed media and Digital version of a work that was later applied to Silkscreen for gallery exhibition purposes. "The American" symbolizes the accomplishments of today's contemporary American Indian community.

Shannon Brady is an artist based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. In 1999 he was Xeric Foundation Grant recipient for comic book art and from 2003 to 2006 he was a member of the Highpoint Center for Printmaking Cooperative. His work was selected by American Illustration 25 and appears in their most current publication. Shannon's art has been exhibited in various venues around the country and most recently his work was part of the “Legends of Style” show in Boston in April of 2007. From Kathmandu to Timbuktu, Shannon's quest for a set of rose colored glasses has taken him to the ends of the earth. Along the way his mind has tried to wrap itself around the multitude of visual experiences and incorporate them into his art. His love for old time circus art, comics, Asian ornamental designs and Wayang puppetry play an influential role his work and keeps his creative drive moving.
